About Salford

Salford is a city in Greater Manchester, its eastern boundary separates it from the City of Manchester. Salford is a centre of Higher Education – the University of Salford – and has a cathedral, Salford Cathedral. Historically, cloth and silk were made here, thus being granted one of the greatest cotton towns. Tourist attractions in Salford include Ordsall Hall, the Bridgewater Canal and the Lowry Centre.
